Why Men's Groups Matter

Groups give men something many are missing: connection.

Done well, they help reduce isolation, build friendships, create routine, improve wellbeing and make it easier to ask for help when life gets tough.

Remember if you are thinking of starting a group...

You don’t need:

A counselling qualification
A charity
Funding
A perfect plan
20 men on day 1

You do need:

A place to meet
A regular time
A willingness to listen
A lot of Patience!

The Science Back it up!

Research consistently shows that strong social connections protect mental health, reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing.

Connection isn't soft. It's protective.
Strong social belonging is linked to lower suicide risk and better overall health.

Men’s groups are:

Community
Conversation
Connection
Peer Support

That’s it!

A men’s group can be as simple as a few men meeting regularly for a chat, walk or activity.
