Sospan Shedders

  • Sospan Shedders’ is a social group set up locally in Llanelli for the benefit of men. Shedders are artists, collectors, story-tellers, amateur radio enthusiasts, train spotters, model makers, engineers, musicians, or anyone who has an interest in being active in their community. The group will do a wide range of activities, from repairing broken items, building benches or just sitting down and having a game of cards.

SSAFA Forces Help

  • SSAFA Forces Help. exists to help serving and ex-service men, women and their families Armed Forces, the reserves, the Territorial Army and certain war veterans from the Merchant Navy also their widows and widowers. More than 7,000 volunteer caseworkers help over 85,000 people each year. Caseworkers are professionally trained, highly regarded and often called in by other organisations. In addition social work services to serving personnel and their families worldwide and, overseas, a community health service are provided. More than 14 million people are estimated to be eligible for assistance from SSAFA Forces and the need is expected to increase.

St Giles Personal Wellbeing Service

The resource centre also supports people to access support for their daily needs by inviting guest speakers and forming links with services in the local community.

The DAWN Centre

  • The DAWN Centre is a multi-agency building, providing a range of services to our client who have issues around mental health, substance misuse, housing, carers support, employment to name a few. The DAWN centre houses Adferiad Recovery services, which are Caniad, Supporting People, Carers, Cyfle Cymru, CAMFA and Parabl. We also have external services bases here, who are our tenants, which are the Conwy SMS and Dechrau Newydd.

The DPJ Foundation

  • The DPJ Foundation, established in July 2016, supports rural communities, particularly men in agriculture, who struggle with poor mental health. Service users are also supported to go swimming, cycling and walking. Staff and service users are responsible for the upkeep of the garden and grounds.
