About the Meet-Up
To support men across all of Wales, we run an online version of our in-person groups — a safe, supportive space to share experiences, hear from others, and build a sense of community from the comfort of home. Whether you’re living in a rural village or simply can’t make it to Cardiff, this group is here for you.
Why Join?
Connection matters — especially for gay and bi men who may face unique challenges, isolation, or a lack of spaces where they feel truly understood. This group isn’t just about mental health. It’s a place to laugh, reflect, vent, and feel seen. Some weeks are deep, some are light-hearted, but every session offers real human connection in a judgment-free setting. And no, it’s never dull.
How It Works
- When: Every other Monday, 7–9pm
- Where: Online via Zoom
- How to Join: Register once, and you’ll receive reminders with the Zoom link before each session.
Each session starts with a short welcome from the facilitator. Then, everyone is invited to share, whether that’s a life update, something weighing on your mind, or just a funny story from the week. Sharing is always optional — being present and listening is enough. There’s a short break halfway through, and we like to end on a positive note, giving space for uplifting or heartwarming shares.
Facilitators
Our facilitators are here to hold space — not to fix or advise. Their role is to guide the session, create a safe atmosphere, and make sure everyone feels heard and respected.
The Agreements
To help keep this space supportive, safe, and empowering for all, we ask everyone to agree to the following:
Camera On, Please
Keeping cameras on helps us feel connected and present with each other. It creates a sense of community, helps build trust, and ensures we’re all fully engaged. (If there’s ever a special reason this isn’t possible, feel free to reach out before the session.)
Confidentiality is Key
What’s shared in the group stays in the group. This allows everyone to feel safe opening up without fear of judgement or breach of trust.
Respect All Voices
Everyone’s experience is valid. We listen without interrupting, and we avoid giving unsolicited advice. Holding space is often more powerful than trying to “fix.”
One Person Speaks at a Time
This ensures everyone is heard fully and respectfully, especially in a Zoom setting.
No Pressure to Share
You’re never required to talk. It’s okay to just show up and listen. Being present is enough.
Come as You Are
Whether you’re having a tough day or feeling great — all of you is welcome. There’s no “right” way to show up.
Kindness and Non-Judgement
We may not always share the same views, but we commit to kindness, open-mindedness, and compassionate communication.
Hate Free Zone
Homophobic, transphobic, racist and any other form of bigoted behaviour is not welcome in this space and will lead to the individual being removed from the group.
About Helpu
