The service aims to promote empowerment, independence, and reduce the need for a carer"s role. Each carer and cared-for receives holistic, person-centered support to manage current circumstances and develop skills for future effectiveness. The service offers 12 support sessions to the cared-for within 6 months, including emotional, physical, mental, financial, accommodation, education, and training support, as well as assistance with spiritual, cultural, and religious beliefs, and referrals to Bridgend-specific services.

The service is located in all 5 Community Mental Health Teams in Cardiff, Barry Hospital, and accepts referrals from the Forensic Team and Neurodevelopmental Team. Additionally, a monthly carers group is held at Chapter Arts in Canton.

Any person aged 18 and over who requires support with Drugs and/or Alcohol. The support provided encompasses various aspects, including assisting individuals with their substance use, offering guidance to enhance social and domestic skills, providing emotional support, and aiding in accessing local community services like housing, health services, and counseling. Referrals into higher levels of support such as OST prescribing, residential rehab, and coordination with other service providers such as Community Mental Health teams, GPs, probation services, social services, welfare advisors, and legal services are also part of the service. Additionally, support is offered to access training, education, and employment opportunities, promote independence, self-care, and alleviate social isolation. The service may also provide transportation for service users to attend appointments, ensuring inclusivity and ongoing support engagement.

Sospan Shedders’ is a social group set up locally in Llanelli for the benefit of men. Shedders are artists, collectors, story-tellers, amateur radio enthusiasts, train spotters, model makers, engineers, musicians, or anyone who has an interest in being active in their community. The group will do a wide range of activities, from repairing broken items, building benches or just sitting down and having a game of cards.

Free Strength and Wellbeing Course is aimed at men local to Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan who are struggling with aspects of their mental health and would benefit from a more hands-on approach. It’s a weekly 2-hour session for 8 weeks.

Surf Therapy CIC is a not for profit community interest company established in 2019. Based in Swansea and Gower, South Wales, we use surf therapy to work with men suffering from mental ill-health. Through a mix of surf therapy, outdoor therapy, blue gym and cold water therapy we work with healthcare professionals, support agencies and the local surf community to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of our surf riders.

The sanctuary service is an out of hours service that provides practical and therapeutic person-centred support to anyone at risk of mental health crisis. The service can support anyone over the age of 17 years and 9 months living in the Swansea and NPT area experiencing stress/anxiety, Depression, low mood, financial worries, loneliness, relationship breakdowns, suffering from domestic violence or deteriorating of mental health because of situational factors.

Tenby Resource Initiative (TRI) project is a resource and activity centre, with a drop-in facility. In addition, the initiative also facilitates outreach activity groups in the community. The Centre aims to provide a range of activities and courses, including practical and emotional support for service users from Adferiad staff and their peers. The Upper Rhymney Valley Men’s Den

The Upper Rhymney Valley Men"s Den offers an space where men can relax, teach/learn new skills or just come along for the craic and a chat over a cuppa and get things off their mind, if you want to, in a friendly non-judgemental setting. If you have any skills you would like to pass on and can spare a few hours a week, we would like to meet with you. There is no registration or membership and is totally free, just come along and take a look. We meet every Tuesday at Rhymney Bowls Club, which is situated in the Memorial Park in Rhymney, between 2-4pm.

Hafal Ammanford Resource Centre: provides educational, training, employment and leisure opportunities. One-to-one support is provided to help people deal with challenges and move on in their lives. The centre is open 5 days per week. The centre is used to run sessions for service users on self-management, cooking, computers and gardening, we have a large Poly tunnel, and raised beds in the garden. Service users are also supported to go swimming, cycling and walking. Staff and service users are responsible for the upkeep of the garden and grounds.
